Dr. Yang has been the Principal Investigator (PI) of several government or industry sponsored integrated research projects, covering a wide spectrum of multimedia processing and ICT technologies, including high-efficiency video coding, multiscreen streaming technology, smart TV, application of image processing and computer vision to anesthetic medicine, and natural human-machine interfaces. Dr. Yang has published more than one hundred technical papers (acting as the first author for more than 60 papers), including two journal articles on IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (T-CSVT). |

BIOGRAPHY |
|
Shih-Hsuan Yang received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1987. He obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, in 1990 and 1994, respectively. He joined the National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei Tech), Taipei, Taiwan, in 1994, where he is currently a Professor of Computer Science and Information Engineering (CSIE). He served as chairman of the CSIE Department from 2004 to 2006, and has been the Provost of Taipei Tech since 2017. |

Dr. Yang is a senior member of the IEEE, a permanent member of the Chinese Image Processing and Pattern Recognition (IPPR) Society, and a member of Software Engineering Association Taiwan.
