           Theme

  Recent advances in wireless technologies have offered people an convenience of living, making life more comfortable and enjoyable. To allow people to better perform their daily living activities, improve the quality of life, and enjoy entertainment and leisure activities, one must first understand the wireless services and the wireless technologies that are in demand in a smart home environment, and then develop key wireless technologies for supporting such demands. This workshop focuses on emerging wireless technologies and innovative wireless solutions for smart home environments.

Final Manuscript Submission Deadline: 1 August 2008



            Author Instruction

  Authors are invited to submit original papers: they must not substantially duplicate work that any of the authors have published elsewhere or have submitted in parallel to any other conferences proceedings. Please use ACM SIG paper format (http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html). Submissions must not exceed 6 pages in PDF, including tables and figures. Submission of a paper implies that, should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will register and present the paper at the conference. Please submit papers directly to the Co-Chair, Ing-Yi Chen, ichen@ntut.edu.tw, with "Smart Home Workshop 2008 paper submission" in the email subject line. The contacting author should be also clearly identified.



            Publication

  Accepted papers will be indexed in ACM Digital Library and EI. The proceedings will be available at the conference. At least one author of an accepted paper must register at the conference site and present the paper at the workshop. Also, an expanded version of selected papers may be published in special issues of  the Wireless Personal Communications and the Computer Journal (SCI indexed Journals).
